What is Lap Band?
The Lap Band surgery is a safe procedure performed with minimal invasion via laparoscopic route.
It consists in wrapping the upper part of your stomach with a silicone made band creating a small pouch above the rest of the stomach. The band can be adjusted according to your necessities allowing a very small amount of food to pass to the rest of the stomach and making you feel full and without hungry.
The adjustment is done in the radiology department and is a very simple procedure consisting in inflate or deflate the band with saline solution through a small device placed under your belly skin.
